The most common used excuse for being late to school is: ‘I woke up too
late’, ‘I didn't have enough the time to get ready’, ‘I missed my bus’.
Students, especially girls, don't seem to find the time to do everything in the
morning before school like choosing their outfit, doing their makeup, etc.
Teenagers these days are ones to stay up late. It’s all fine in the
summer when you can wake up as late as you want or even on the weekends.
However, when school starts again, we tend to still keep our old habits, which
results in staying up late and getting up early. I am one of those unfortunate
victims who barely get 6 hours of sleep on weekdays. So how to get ready in a
short amount of time when all you want to do is just get back in your bed
sheets and sleep?
Step one: Do the basics before. For instance, shower the night before.
That way when you wake up it will look nice and you. Maybe even blow-dry your
hair for an effortless straight look or braid it for beach waves in the
morning. Also, get your outfits ready in advance. That way you won’t be
scrambling in the morning to find possible outfit combinations. Tip: Take
pictures of yourself in possible outfit ideas. Then, pick the one that you
think would look nice and recreate the look!
Step two: When you wake up, the first thing you should do is wash your
face. It will be clean and ready for the makeup. Use a natural product because
you never know what chemical products could contain which your skin absorbs.
Next, brush your teeth; take your time to brush them carefully. Badly
brushed teeth can result to cavities and tooth decay.
Step three (optional): Time for makeup. For a more natural effortless
look while still looking stunning, substitute your liquid foundation for a
powder one. You shouldn’t mask your natural beauty through full on makeup for
just school. After that, you can add neutral eye shadow and purchase an already
curling mascara (example: Clinique High Impact Curl Mascara-18$). This will
save us time from curling your lashes by still giving the same result. Tip:
Instead of using your blush, dab some of the lip stick/lip balm that you used
on your lips onto your cheeks and blend it in for a faster yet natural makeup
result.
These tips may be very small and vague; however they can make a big difference to your day. From being scrambled and stressed out; to being organized and ready for your busy day, we should all follow these tips. From on late night stayer to another, we could all use those extra minutes in the morning to sit down and relax.
