There are many products that claim they are organic and provide the best results and health for your hair. However, most products claiming this actually do comtain harmful chemicals. It’s all lies, darling. Ingredients like parabens, mineral oil, silicones and sodium laurel or laureth saulfate can be harmful and cause irreplaceable hair damage and serious health issues. These ingredients can be avoided by choosing more natural products and even finding great alternatives for the same results.
The first thing to take into consideration is to recognize which products are most harmful for hair and can have an impact on peoples health. Sulfates, the chemical often found in shampoo that makes it lather can strip you hair of its natural oils causing it to dry up and break. Also, products that end in "eth" are all 1,4-Dioxane positive, a cancer causing petrochemical. Silicones and mineral oil clog up the hair folicle by coating the hair. This might make it look shiny and glossy at first but, by doing this these products are also suffocating it and drying your hair. Moisture is no longer able to reach the follicle thanks to the impenetrable barrier around it. Also look out for parrabens, they are a well know cancerogen used as a preservative in a lot of beauty products. This why it is important to look at the ingredients before making a purchase. The more natural the ingerdients the better.
The second thing to look into when lookig for new products is to read consumer reviews. Even though everybody's hair is different and reacts differently to hair products, reading a review from people with similar hair types as you will make things much simpler when trying to find the perfect hair products for you.
The third step is to take your time with the products bought. Hair products and all beauty products in general are not meant to work miracles the first time they're applied. Being discouraged after you try a product for the first time and quickly buying a new product to hopefully get the results you want can resulting into being a product junkie, collecting up a pile of products that you most likely wont use. That is why it is recomeneded to use the product for at least a month for your hair to properly react to the product used.
In the end it is not an easy process to find the right products for you. It takes a long time, and a lot of determination but, in the end it’s all worth it because you will be proud of your accomplishment, treating your body right and preventing futur problems.
